It’s Joakim here. Greetings from Oulu, Finland, where I’m doing some coaching sessions for local gaming startups. The industry is growing like crazy here in Oulu, with a few new companies getting started every month. And the talent is amazing here. If you want to visit a nimble tech hub in the Nordics, Oulu should be your destination.

Meanwhile, Sensortower’s 2019 mobile report is out: PDF is here

Also, the guys at Deconstructor did a really good talk with AppAnnie, here’s the link to listen to that one. Listen to it on Anchor.fm

I still want to be an entrepreneur, but without meditation, I don’t think it would be possible. If you haven’t tried meditation yet, I highly recommend that you check out the article and give meditation a try.

A Book Recommendation

The Courage to Be Disliked: How to Free Yourself, Change your Life and Achieve Real Happiness (Ichiro Kishimi, Fumitake Koga) — I was mindblown by this book. The book tells the story of an unhappy young man, who visits a philosopher on the outskirts of his city. Over the course of five conversations, the teacher helps him take control of his life and happiness.

Using the theories of psychologist Alfred Adler, who worked alongside Freud and Jung, the book simplifies how we are all free to determine our own future, free of the shackles of past experiences, doubts and the expectations of others.

You should really take a look at this book if you relate to any of the following feelings.

  • Worries about what other people think of you
  • Feeling as if you’re not achieving your goals and plans
  • Felling that those around you are having better luck, have better tools or that you are otherwise somewhat jealous or envious
  • Feeling that life has been unfair to you
  • Struggle to find happiness and peace in every day

Why is the book called “Courage to be disliked”? Read it to find out.
